Where does chocolate come from? Who first made chocolate? The History of Chocolate is a long and interesting story. From its beginnings in Mesoamerica all the way up to Swiss inventors tinkering away with it in cottages in the Alps.
Fuel for the Aztec and European war machines, a catalyst for massive industrial innovation and a tasty treat adored by chocoholics across the globe. It was enjoyed by powerful Emperor’s on both sides of the Atlantic and filled the pockets of enterprising missionaries. With its roots as a spicy and fatty drink in ancient Mesoamerica, how did chocolate eventually become the guilty pleasure of billions?

The origin of chocolate is still uncertain and this information is wrong, it is the clear example of why white people believe they know everything.

+- Cogito - Entonces corrige el titulo, ya que el origen del chocolate no empieza con lo Olmecas... el cacao siempre ha crecido en los países cerca del ecuador por lo tanto la cultura Olmeca era una de la civilizaciones antiguas que si usaba el cacao y la bebida del chocolate. Pero más civilizaciones antiguas en el sur también lo usaban. La palabra chocolate si probiene del nahuatl porque los mismo mexicas les ofrecieron a los españoles para que no los invadieran, por eso se afirma que proviene de México. Un libro antiguo que fue narrado por lo primero que vieron los españoles no lo hace que sea la verdad del origen del cacao, pero lo típico escrito por gente blanca que solo hace afirmar lo primero que ve y sus verdades son lo que divulgan. Estas medias verdades crean confusión y conflictos. Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, Brasil y Perú tienen miles de años de historia con el cacao y el chocolate.
